Mission

Potato Drop for food pantries.

A Heart for Mission

Members and friends of Calvary Church participate in many different kinds of mission work throughout the year.

SCHOOL SUPPLIES, HEALTH KITS, LAYETTE KITS
On an ongoing basis, Calvary collects items which are taken to the Midwest Distribution Center and delivered to areas in need throughout the state, country, and world.

CHILDREN’S CLOTHES FOR HAITI
A group of Calvary women sew hospital gowns and shorts for the children’s hospital in Haiti.

CARD-MAKING MINISTRY
Once a month members and friends gather at Calvary to make greeting cards to sell.  Proceeds from this time of fun and fellowship are sent to Kids Above All (formerly known as ChildServ), a ministry serving children and youth and their families. These beautiful cards can be purchased from the rack in the Narthex for $1.00 each.

POTATO DROP
Calvary coordinates receiving a delivery of 40,000 pounds of potatoes which is distributed to food pantries and feeding programs in the Northern Illinois area.  Calvary partners with the Society of St. Andrew in making this event happen. www.endhunger.org

FOOD PANTRY
Members contribute on an ongoing basis to the “food barrels” with canned goods and other non-perishable items which are donated to local food pantries.
